Women's Fitness:  Effects on Uterus Position

After years of education in Exercise Science and learning several modes of exercise, I thought I new all about the human body, as it pertains to exercise. In Arvigo Therapy classes, I was shocked to learn how vulnerable female pelvic organs are to prolapse and misalignments.
Here is an explanation: The female body undergoes hormonal changes throughout the menstrual cycle. One hormone, called relaxin softens/ loosens ligaments throughout the body, including uterine ligaments. The purpose of relaxin is to allow the ligaments of the uterus to grow with the uterus during pregnancy and to allow the hips to be extra flexible to make room for the baby for birth.
  • During the menstrual cycle, the uterine ligaments are looser the week before menstruation begins. Once menstruation starts relaxin stops being produced.
  • Pregnancy: Relaxin builds up for 9 months until the baby is born.
  • Postpartum: It takes 3 months to completely rid the body of relaxin. At 6 months postpartum, the uterine ligaments go back to their original length, and it takes 2 years postpartum for ligaments to regain their tensile strength.

Follow these rules to prevent prolapse and other misalignments
  • Avoid heavy pushing/ lifting/ pulling and high impact exercises like running 7 days before menstruation and during heavy menstrual bleeding.
  • Avoid heavy pushing/ lifting/ pulling and high impact exercise during pregnancy and up to 2 years postpartum.

Exercise Tips
  • If you strength train, do not use weight that causes you to bear down. Even chronic coughing and constipation cause bearing down that can cause prolapse. A sign of prolapse is peeing when you sneeze, cough or are closer to the beginning of your period.
  • If you like cardio, it's safer to hike or power walk to get your heart rate up. Avoid jumping and running

These 3 Herbs Benefit Fertility, Pregnancy & Postpartum

You can make a tea that contains Red Raspberry Leaf, Nettles and Dandelion Root as a Fertility Tea, a Prenatal Vitamin Tea during pregnancy, and a Lactation Tea after the baby is born.

Dr Susan Weed recommends these teas instead of a prenatal vitamin during pregnancy. The amount of vitamins and minerals, including folate is better than taking a synthetic vitamin. I did this during my pregnancy and I didn't have any health issues at all, regardless of my age. When asked at the doctors office, if I was taking my prenatals, I'd answer yes. I never felt like I needed to explain what the source of my prenatal vitamin was.

Whatever your fertility issue is, please look up these individual herbs for more details. I like to keep my posts short and there is a lot of information on the following websites about these herbs and more: Natural-fertility-info.com and google Dr. Susan Weed are great resources. Good Luck!

Natural Remedies for Excessive Bleeding

For excessive bleeding, nonstop bleeding, painful periods, heavy clotting, anemia, and to shrink or make fibroids disappear try unsulphured blackstrap molasses, Apple Cider Vinegar, turmeric and cayenne pepper. To get the most benefit, take one or most of these daily, not just when you are bleeding.

Molasses
Blackstrap Molasses: You can find it online or in most stores for $5 or $8 organic
Just take 2 tablespoons in water daily. Brush your teeth asap so your teeth don't stain

Apple Cider Vinegar
Read about benefits here

Turmeric
Use half to a full teaspoon daily in tea or coconut milk or almond milk with coconut oil. The best way to absorb turmeric and get all the benefits is to take it with fat, so use coconut oil. Capsules are also an option.

Cayene Pepper
Is extremely effective, but spicy so put small amounts on meats, in stews and soups daily. You can put in warm water and drink like tea if you're desperate and need to stop hemorrhage quickly. Capsules are also an option

Biomagnetism Session
This is a magnet therapy. I will be offering sessions after the first week of April. It's extremely effective for removing pathogens which are the root cause of Excessive bleeding and fibroids

Arvigo Therapy session

Salt & Blood Pressure

table salt can raise your blood pressure and cause bloating. Doctors recommend decreasing salt intake, to prevent high blood pressure, especially during pregnancy. BUT you can continue to eat salt, if you use the correct kind.

Table salt, the common salt we use, only contains 2 minerals, sodium and chloride. Those minerals raise blood pressure

Himalayan pink salt contains 80+ minerals and will not raise blood pressure.

Celtic salt has almost as many minerals as pink salt and won't raise blood pressure

Sea salt typically has 10 minerals, and is better than table salt, but use pink or Celtic salt if you have high blood pressure
